Solafund is an online donation platform for nonprofits, operated by Paired Inc. of Carmel, Indiana. This policy explains what personal information we collect through solafund.io and through the donation pages we build for nonprofits, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to donors who give through a Solafund donation page, nonprofits that use Solafund, and visitors to solafund.io.
Information We Collect
From Donors
When you give through a Solafund donation page, we collect:
- Your name and email address
- The amount and date of your gift, and whether it is one-time or recurring
- Any message you choose to include
Your payment details are entered into a form handled by Stripe, our payment processor, and Solafund does not store your full card number.
From Nonprofits
When a nonprofit signs up, we collect:
- The organization’s name
- The name, email address, and phone number of its contact person
- The details we need to build its donation page
- The information Stripe requires to verify the organization and send its payouts
From Visitors
If you use the contact form on solafund.io, we collect:
- Your name and email address
- Your subject and message
Automatically
Like most websites, we receive technical information through server logs, cookies, and analytics tools, including:
- Your IP address
- Your browser and device type
- The pages you view and the page that referred you
- Your approximate location
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process donations and manage recurring gifts
- Deliver donation records to the nonprofit you gave to
- Build and maintain donation pages
- Respond to messages and support requests
- Improve and secure the platform
- Prevent fraud and abuse
- Meet our legal obligations
Who We Share Information With
We share information only with:
- The nonprofit you donate to. Donor information goes to that nonprofit, which uses it under its own privacy policy.
- Stripe. Stripe processes donations and nonprofit payouts under its own privacy policy.
- Service providers. These are companies that help us run the platform, such as our website host, email provider, and analytics tools like Google Analytics.
- Authorities and advisors. We may disclose information when the law requires it or when we need to protect our rights, our users, or the platform.
- A buyer. If Solafund or Paired Inc. is ever sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that deal.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not gate or resell donor data.
Donor Data and the Nonprofits We Serve
Each nonprofit controls the donor data collected on its donation page. Solafund handles that data on the nonprofit’s behalf so the platform can work. If you want to see, correct, or delete information about a gift, contact the nonprofit first. We will help the nonprofit respond to your request.
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand how it is used, with tools such as Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Indiana, and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to delete your personal information
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information
We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
To make a request, email hello@solafund.io. We may need to verify your identity first, and we respond to verified requests within 45 days. You can also use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We honor these requests from all visitors the same way, regardless of state.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as we need it to provide the platform and to meet tax, accounting, and legal requirements. Nonprofits keep donor records according to their own policies.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and limited access to our systems, and we rely on Stripe for secure payment handling. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
Solafund is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and we do not sell or share it. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Visitors Outside the United States
Solafund is operated from the United States and is intended for visitors here. If you visit from another country, your information is processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will post a notice on the site if we make a material change.
